Just wanted to share this youtube video of Tony Levin with Cheap Trick playing Losing You.
They recorded this for the Double Fantasy album. It didn't make the cut.
Tony has a killer tone on that Stingray. Enjoy

Tony Levin played on the entire Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey albums. He does excellent work on both of these Lennon albums, rarely playing the obvious yet always the perfect line for the song.

Bun E. Carlos and Rick Neilsen only played on "I'm Losing You" but their version wasn't released until decades later on the John Lennon Anthology box set.

That video is old. They're even older now... and so are you!

Love this version. Tony Levin is totally 'in the pocket'. And tone to die for!

Bwahahaha, I was confused by the Levin/Lennon similarity for a minute there.

Not really Cheap Trick, IMHO (hey, it's missing their BASS PLAYER), but it's a great moment of Nielsen/Carlos playing with Levin/Lennon that I hadn't heard before, and gotta listen to many times again to digest. Thank you so much!

This is the version on the original album with Earl Slick and Hugh McCracken (and Lennon) on guitars and Andy Newmark on drums. Tony Levin still on bass.
