I was watching Fox News, and one of their correspondants was wearing a gas mask and saying how a missle had just fallen and he was really playing up to the "danger angle", in the middle of the report, a solder walked by WITHOUT a gas mask on. About 3 seconds later, another walks by without one. Turns out he's the ONLY one wearing a gas mask. :D

  2. A cable news channel engaging in sensationalism? Horrors!

    :D

  3. Network and Cable news programs = entertainment programs.

That's about the size of it....do you REALLY think the NEWS can hold a candle to the entertainment value of "celebrity boxing" or "meet my parents"?

  5. Yep. MSNBC, Fox, and CNN aren't competing with other news outlets--they're competing with Sorority Life on MTV or whatever weapons-porn is on the History Channel.

  9. Last night, right after the war started, I was flipping channels to see what the various networks were doing, and I happened to catch this absolute gem from Shepard Smith. He probably had no idea just how hilarious he sounded when he said:
"Fox News is committed to bringing you fair and balanced coverage of the events to come. The O'Reilly Factor is next."

I think a guy on MSNBC had one on this morning when I was watching. It was rather funny actually, he kept looking over his shoulder in a rather nervous fasion.

  12. I find it very hard to watch most of the *ACTORS* on TV news. A few of them are true, dedicated journalists, but, there are a lot of them that just want to get "noticed," if you know what I mean. I much prefer the radio.

True, there are no pictures, but, they just tell you what's happening; no Lee Strassberg acting class facial expressions.

There are billboards around town for the local AM talk radio station. They have a picture of Bill O'Reilly on one side, Sean Hannity on the other, and in big letters across the top: "FAIR AND BALANCED, WE ARE."

Whenever my wife and I encounter a new one while driving around, the first one to spot it is obligated to point it out and read those words in the best Yoda voice we can muster.

    :D

Hahahahaha....I saw him on his afghanistan report with some troop and I swear he talked like every word he spoke was the most profound thing ever said. It was the best entertainment all day.
