Well, I was looking for a bang around bass that I didn't mind taking out of the country this summer( may be playing in the Czech Republic) and I came across Wilbyman's Skyline Lakland DJ4 he advertised on here that Brian had at the Lowend. I've never played one in my life but read good stuff about them here. Brian shipped Monday and I got it Tuesday and what a nice bass! Fit and finish is almost as good as the Sadowsky Metro I've owned! Plays real easy and has a great sound but it may be more than a bang around bass. A little too nice for that. But not one I wouldn't mind leaving my Sadowsky at home for!

They are great basses. Not really taking much of a chance with them, since there aren't many unhappy owners. I've owned two and they were both great basses. Still have a Skyline JO4. It is my main bass.

Glad you like it. You may have to change the title of your post though, because I'm sure you now know what all Lakand owners know...

It's never "taking a chance". A Lakland (skyline or USA) is almost always a sure thing. :)

I must say that I am jealous though, if you can use a DJ4 as your backup...
    Enjoy.

I absolutely fell in love with my Joe Osborn 4. So much that I just bought a Darryl Jones 5 to round out my stable. The neck on the JO is absolutely wonderful and the bass nearly plays itself. I think you'll be real pleased with your Lakland for many years to come.

Very true, and even the people who end up getting rid of them still usually say they're great basses.

I'm a very happy Skyline owner myself.

There is no bass, as far as I can tell.

Lordy, lordy! Another Tuxedo Bass. Is that finish pearlescent? It's a beautiful thing.

Wow, that is one incredible looking bass. I love that color/pickguard combination. How does it sound with the Nordstrands?

Just add another string and you'll put me into a Lakland GAS induced coma.

    Congrats!!

Yes, it's the pearl finish and I like it!
Well, as I've done with my other basses, I've put the lower set of a 5 string set and tuned it B-E-A-D. The Nordstrands sound great but I can't compare them with what was originally in this bass.

Can someone describe the difference of tone between the Aero and the Nordstrand?
