i am having trouble trying to figure out how thick the top and accent between the top and core should be. i am wanting it to be so that when i round the edges with the router, the accent really shows through, kind of like this http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=389911&page=3 post 58

I'd say it depends on how thick your top is and how much of a rounded edge you want.

Screw together some small test samples out of cheap wood and find what gives you the look you want.

I think a 3/16" top and accent will get you the look your after.

Looks more like 3/8" or 1/2" roundover. Test on scraps as stated above or PM Shawn for his input.

  6. i prefer to do my rounding by hand with a rasp, but thats just me : )

    usually a 1/4 - 5/16 top.
