Looks great! Larry is a great guy to work with. I just recently purchased a great looking Bubinga top from him and he took a few pictures of different Bubinga tops to choose from.

Keep us updated on your bass, I love to see "in progress" pics.

    Hey Steve!!! What's been happening??

No no other pics yet.. Chris said he'd try to get me some this week.

  9. Looks awesome. I can't wait to see it.

    Good eye Mark.

  10. Stambaugh da man. I love my 6. I just want to say, though(& you may know this already)that if you're like me & spec'd more knobs than on all your other basses combined for the intimidation factor, a fair amount of top gets covered up. Bottom line:I am a jealous man.

Oh- I just looked- you're going passive. Good choice, I think. Mine has a passive tone pot as well as an Aggie 3-band pre. I actually go passive a lot. Aeros are sweet(said in Cartman voice)!

    looking good mark!

maybe wenge pickup covers and knobs would go better with the wenge fretboard? I know how much you love that wenge.

Yeah I had thought about that, but I wonder since wenge has such an open grain how it would work.. Although he didn't come right out and say it, Chris seemed to advise against using it (wenge) for the covers and knobs...

I have a Nordstrand on order with a Bubinga top, Wenge/maple neck and Wenge fb. I will more than likely choose to have Roger at THG make me some Wenge control knobs. I also thought about Wenge pickup covers but am not sure if I like wood pickup covers. They look nice but my thumb really wears the covers, it actually puts grooves in them where my thumb rests.

Overall, Wenge knobs and pickup covers would really look sweet. Gotta love Wenge!

I vote for the matching Maple Burl covers. With a sweet top like, the matching covers would look really classy.

  15. My bass has a Mac ebony board & PU covers- which I like- but I think matching the top would look good on yours.

That's gonna be one sweet bass.

I think ebony pup covers and knobs will go great with that!
