Top Ten Vocalists

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by Sock Justice, Jun 26, 2003.

  1. I did a search, and saw no such thread, so I'm going to throw it out there to see what people think. If it has been extensively done, I apologize.

Use whatever criteria you feel appropriate to judge the canidates on, and then post your top ten (or five, or whatever you feel like voicing) favorite vocalists. I'll get the ball rolling...

    (In no particular order)

    -Bob Marley (the Wailers)
    -Ani DiFranco (Solo)
-Coolie Ranx (Toasters, Pilfers and Solo)
-Tomas Kalnoky (Catch22, B.O.T.A.R., Streelight Manifesto)
    -Gwen Stefani (No Doubt)
    -John Fogerty (CCR)
-G. Love (G. Love and Special Sauce)
    -Brad Nowell (Sublime)
-Jim Croce (Of Jim Croce Fame)
-Marvin Gaye (Of Marvin Gaye Fame)

    Do it to it.

    Edit: To add band names.

I honestly could never compile such a list top 100 maybe...but never just 10.

More than any other musician, I feel vocalists truly shine when it comes to having starkly different and unique characteristics that make them great.

I like a lot of vocalists, I have a couple friends who are ridiculously talented vocalists, and I would put them just as high as any pro.
