I'm playing an interesting concert in Toronto next Friday and if there are any Toronto TBers out there it would be nice to say Hi.

The Classical Music Consort is doing a series of all of Haydn's London Symphonies to celebrate the bicentennial of Haydn's death. So the last concert features symphonies 102, 103 and 104.

We are using a rather small orchestra of 3 1sts, 3 2nds, 2 violas, 2 celli and one bass (me) plus pairs of winds with 2 trumpets and timpani. The timpani are the old fashioned kind that are on a tripod and use a big T-screw to change the pitch. The conductor is Ashiq Aziz and he really knows his stuff.

The concert is Friday Oct 9 at 7:30 at Trinity College Chapel (6 Hoskins Ave which is just a few steps from the UofT music faculty.) I forget the cost, maybe $15 or $20, maybe less for students.
