Is it bad to have 2 pickups sticking together? I would think that it would mess up the magnetism.
  2. They arent 2 pickups touching, its one split pickup. Do a search on "precision pickup".

Pickups sticking together is fine. If you store 2 pickups and the poles are touching and the pickups are sticking together, no harm will be done. You can deguass a pickups magnetism if it comes into contact with a raelly strong magnet like neodynium or rare earth magnet.

BTW- A P-bass pickup or precision bass pickup is 2 coils not 1. They are actually 2 pickups wired together in series.

I seem to remember Bill Lawrence recommending against storing pickups this way. I don't have the details. Maybe they can be found on the web.
