Paul Turners DB750, Gas Cooker DI, Aggie GS412. I've seen him using DB cabs too.

    Also has a wicked pedalboard.

I have the Bass Player mag with his NIN rig in even though now it's outdated but I can't scan it so some one else can grab it :D

  5. Just goes to show something about gear.

In an interview he said that the most important thing about a bass to him was "that all the strings were the same volume".

He knows his onions about gear though.

Anyway. Here's Rix from the kaiser chiefs; P bass, 2 SVT's & matching fridges:

My tech is constantly repairing those SVT's, he hates them, don't know what Rix's opinions are on them

I've been trying to find where I hosted my old concert pics, but I can't, so I'll use some from the internets.

Zach Carothers of Portugal the Man

I believe he is currently using a Sunn 2000S (it's some kind of sunn) and either an 8x10 or 2x15 cab (it was big), at least that's what he had on their last headlining tour. The last time I saw them was at my school and they were playing rented equipment so he was using an SVT-CL/810e. The time before that was when they were opening for minus the bear and he was using an old solid state ampeg with an 810.

    Nick Beard of Circa Survive

In this pic he's got an SVT-CL, when they played my school and I saw his stuff up close it was an SVT-II Pro, either way though he uses that with a Sansamp PSA 1 (not the 1.1) with the foot switch. He uses the PSA to set different levels of drive on the head.

Magnificent work friends-too glad this panned out. Also, this is the first thread I've started that went anywhere. I would love to see more stuff from all kinds of bands. Interesting how much variety there has already been. Ben Kinney's setup is the most original. I awlays thought smaller amps had better tone, and wondered how it would be to just stack a bunch of them.

  9. Well, I think you'd get a lot of phase issues, and it'd be a nightmare to set up/tear down, power, and you'd need to spend a pretty penny on signal distribution too. IMO small amps are ace, but only for small endeavours. :smug:

Eddie Breckenridge's (Thrice) rig in the studio. The Grabber/SVT/8x10 is the usual set up. This photo is from their current studio work, and is the first pic I've seen of him using a B15. Live, I've only ever seen him use the two grabbers, but in the studio pics he also has used a custom 5 string P-deluxe, a 4 string P, and an upright.

Back in the Gov' Mule days I think he was rocking a 70's SVT and some year of Ampeg 810. Great tone on him.

We just added a feature about touring rigs in the mag, called Gig Rigs. First write up shows Dewayne Pate, bassist for the legendary Robben Ford.
