I get 18mpg in my turbo volvo. Even when i am not driving spiritedly i only get about 20. Maybe its time for something more fuel efficient. TURBO DIESEL.

When me and my wife first got married, she had a VW Rabbit Diesel. She moved to NC about a month before me, so I was driving this car about 200 miles one way on the weekends. My parents switched from oil heat to a heat pump for their heat, to I would add a quart of motor oil to my tank and pump the heating oil from their tank into the Rabbit. I would get 49 miles to the gallon with a top speed on a flat surface of 70 mph.
When I owned a Saturn, I was thinking of suggesting to GM that they should get the government to classify motor oil as an alternative fuel.
Home heating oil doesn't provide enough top end lubricant, so adding a quart of motor oil to the home heating fuel made it a very clean deisel with a little more kick. This was advice from a diesel mechanic and it worked.
