I don't know if this is the right spot to post this, I spent a little time trying to find an answer and have come up empty.

I just recently purchased a Traben 5-String Phoenix, the picture online and almost everywhere I've looked, shows that it has a "black" backing, the color red emanates from the center of the body towards the outer edges which then fades to a black.

On mine, the whole back body is red, and instead of fading around the edges it just stays a constant red.

Is this a new version of the phoenix? Fluke? Should I be upset and get a replacement?

btw I love the look and sound of this thing, I've been beating on an old 4 string fender and with the addition of the B string, wow...

Don't be upset, the redburst, IIRC is an old model and the current one is straight red.

ah ok, I was "slightly" disappointed when I saw the "all red" but it is still an amazing instrument

I ordered the phoenix blood red, I felt the black shadow was a bit too dark and wanted a little contrast

also sorry for the crappy first picture it was off of my phone

    thanks guys!

As long as it rocks, it can be any colour under the rainbow, IMO.
