I found and old Trace Elliot Acoustic 7 band graphic EQ preamp pedal for sale, and as it happens I am actually looking for a preamp and happen to like the Trace Elliot sound, but would this pedal be any good for bass?

TE stuff has always been pretty good. I heard a J through a 1x15 combo a few years ago. One of the best tones I've ever heard.

Yeah, my main amp is an old Trace Elliot too.

Love the tone it gives me, just not sure about this since it is supposed to be an acoustic preamp and not specifically for bass.

Probably not voiced for bass. What are the bands?

    Yeah, that's what I though.

    The bands are: 50Hz, 100Hz, 330Hz, 1KHz, 3.5kHz, 10KHz, 15KHz

Not much mid mids control, but I guess it could work fairly well anyway, just with the two last bands being more or less useless.

Also two pre-shapes on it, but not planing to use those since I don't like scooped out mids.

Looks like this (not the exact unit, just a picture I found of it on Google):
