Trace Elliot AH-100 vs Carslboro Stingray Bass

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by 4StringLoser, May 30, 2012.

  1. I've got the opportunity to buy ONE of these two bass heads for under $70, secondhand.

The Trace Elliot is in a nearby "Cash Generator" store and I can try it out.

Have picked it up, and it feels like it's built like a Tank.

The Carlsbro is in a Cash Generator in Wales. So no trying that out.

    For Pics of their condition,

I want one of these for small (to medium, if I get lucky) gigs + rehearsals etc.

I have heard good things about TE, but is 100 watts going to be enough to really drive a 210 cab or possibly 410?

As for the Carlsbro, I haven't the slightest clue about it, Is it any good?
    Any horror stories about them?

I would google the stingray, but I can't find a model number anywhere on that pic. It's marginally cheaper than the TE, but not enough that I'd care, if the TE was at all nicer sounding.
  2. Nothing?

I'd probably lean towards the Trace myself.

I have the AH100, and love it. Just bummed it's only going for $70 :rollno:
