just purchased this head. :) i know little about it except its a hybrid head. the guy says its rated at 580 watts which is too much to be a 300h, but just shy of being a 600h right?

Hey, congrats that's a sweet head!

IIRC Trace heads state their RMS wattage as well as their peak power. In my case, a Trace 4001 head (12 band, "300 watts" ) reads in the back as being 280 watts RMS and 560 watts peak. People on ebay usually state the peak power to attract more hits. With that caveat said, 280 Trace watts are pretty loud indeed! ;)

Find the year of manufacture and I might be able to tell you.

If I recall correctly that is the 300H (5001) head which is 280 watts RMS. What model number is on it?
