Trace Elliot Head In a Rack?

Trace made rack-specific heads, but not many. Look for models that start with RAH.

In 15 years of playing Trace Elliot I have never once heard of someone successfully converting a combo or amplifier into a rackmount. I suspect you're about to find out why when you open it up

 

I think you'll find it's wider than 19".

 

My GP12smx head came with rack ears. I have never had it out of the head case before though. It is 17 1/8" wide for reference.

 

Look at the 15" speaker in the pic. Add 4".

 

SGD Lutherie said he used a BLX head, but didn't say if he took it out of the combo or not. Might ask him.

I use the GP7 SMC head from a BLX combo. It's a great sounding amp.

 

This smx head was rackable.





This head came bare (RAH - no sleeve).
