I snagged fretlessrock's Trace EQ pedal and I know that it requires an 18v supply. So I can get a universal but is the Trace Tip or Ring hot ? Anyone know the proper size of the connector ? Anyone got a spare they want to off ? Is there life on mars ?

    Thanks, Mal

Traditionally the tip should be (+) positive and the sleeve (your calling the ring?) should be (-) negative.

Thats what I believe it to be but I cannot say for sure. Thats how a traditional two conductor power supply is wired.

That has been my experience as well. I also owned an MGB in the deep dark past and after that - anything electrical and British - I go for specific knowledge rather then general ...

  4. I just got out my old Trace SMX power supply and checked it with a multimeter-

    tip/centre -
    ring/sleeve +

the internal pin is 2.5mm (5mm plug).

I had to buy an 18v supply for my TE SMX compressor - and as Mock Turt says - its 2.5mm neg centre.

0.4mm bigger than the Boss type.
