    Hi folks

I’m a newbie to this chat forum and I have a black 5-string Trace Elliot T-Bass which I bought second hand from a friend back in 1999. I believe it is a 1996 model and I still use it regularly in the band I’ve played with for the last 15 years. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t consider selling it. However I am curious to find out how much the bass is worth.

The bass also has custom SIMS LED alights (green) on the dots along the top of the fretboard which was installed for the previous owner before me.

I did a google search and found nothing about the bass and even went on eBay but nothing there either.

That’s where I found this forum so thought I’d ask here. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Willie

  2. You have to be a 'supporting member' to ask about instrument value

I’m sorry, what does that mean exactly? I’m just new to the forum. Thanks.

Having never heard of Status basses, I went and looked at their website. I work with carbon fiber and have to say that the fit and finish on their instruments is spectacular! Don't know anything about how they sound/play, but someone really knows what they're doing! Incredible!

  7. Charles, I look back at the 80's as a time of inovation in bass design. You should have a look at Patrice Vigier's work, the Delta metal fingerboards were fantastic. Folks were trying new materials and new concepts.

The Electraglide in this link should interest you :)

Very nice! I looked up Vigier's as well. Composites can do amazing things when the recipe is just right. Some of my projects have involved carbon parts where resonance is important. There are some really gifted people doing incredible work. You can be sure there were MANY trials and errors before they had a product they were willing to let anyone see. Thanks for the links!
