I'd rather make a trade than sell outright but if you want to make me a cash offer, PM me.

Here's the deal. I have a Mint V6 and a Mint V4. I really only need one, and I'm on a search for the holy grail....the V8. I'll keep whatever one I don't get rid of as a home/backup head. If you've ever played a Trace all tube head, you know the deal. They rock hard as hell. They're also pretty hard to find in any condition and both of these are in perfect shape. I bought the V4 as NOS about a year or so ago from British Audio Service. I got the V6 about 2 years ago NOS as well. The V6 has had the "reliability mods" that everyone talks about. I also just had in inspected and serviced by Lord Valve at NBS here in Denver. It has the stock KT88's but I loaded it with the GT gold 12AX7s and I also have a trio of EI Elite 12AX7W's for the V4 (it still has the stock tubes).

The V4 keeps up with a loud drummer and 2 1/2 stacks no problem through my Berg NV610. The V6 crushes them. When I had it serviced it benched out at 386W on the scope so the myth about the V6 being overrated at 400W is just that....a myth. He didn't have it cranked to the max. These things are powerful as it gets and sound fantastic.

Liek I said, I'd rather make a trade of some sort. My preferences are for 5 string basses, nice cabs (Berg are my #1 choice) I could use a good power amp to go with my V-type pre that I use in the studio.

You'll have trouble finding 2 better examples of the best Trace had to offer. Feel free to run anything by me, the worst I can do is say no. :)

Oh, and I'll also put on the nice chrome knobs on the V6. I already have them (got them from BAS)

Once I make a deal on one of these, the other one is off the block.

Damn... If I hadn't bought a 400+ last night, I'd definitely be sending you a PM.

    Free bump, then. :)

OK. I'm getting a bunch of you already wanting to know the cash price on these.

I'll sell the V4 for $750 and the V6 for $1200. I know it's a little higher than what I've seen some of them go for (although I did see a V6 go on eBay not too long ago for $1200) but my reasoning is this:

I'm not in a huge rush to get rid of them. I don't really need the cash, and I think I could get better value on a trade than a cash deal. Also these amps are in new condition. The V6 just got a checkup, inspection and clean bill of health by one of the top tube amp specialists in the country. These are hard amps to find in any condition, but almost impossible in this condition. Also I'll throw in the knobs on the V6 (the V4 already has them) and 3 new EI Elite 12AX7's. Shipping won't be too bad either as I have a company fedex account. I doubt it will cost more than about $40. If it does I'll eat the difference. If it's less I'll pass the savings on to the buyer.

That's the cost of tube amps. I lift people for a living, so a 65lb amp isn't too rough :p

I don't think he is still offering the V4. In his initial post, he said he was going to sell one and keep whichever one didn't sell.

Just out of curiosity, what's the V-Type head you were offering 00soul? I thought the only V-Types were the V4, V6, V8 and V-Type preamp.

The V4 is off the market. I'm keeping one and I traded the other to Natrab.
