I was searching around ebay and I found a TE v6 at 300quid and i won the item for around £412. Its 400watt tube woo yea, im really looking forward to using this.

  2. Ohh man, at least it went to another TB'er, i got the first bid (£200) on that, and Microbass on here REALLY wanted that, if he finds you, your a dead man! you beat his max bid by a tenner

lol thats cool, sorry Microbass but it had to be done!!

  4. Plus, i wouldnt have minded winning it for £200 :p

  5. Congrats, the V series kicks all kinds of butt.

    Isn't the V6 a 300 watt amp?

  6. it's a 6x KT88/6550 head like the SVT... but yes, Trace squeezes ~400 watts out of them. I questioned it a while back too and was corrected by a few tube gurus.

Sweet Score! Congrats! What cabs are you going to run it with?

Ah damn it was you who sniped me! I was biding my time untill it passed £400 when I bowed out. Oh well congrats mate, it's a nice score. And Mohawk it was you who was kill the brave who I was planning to deny. Oh well lol, just shows that it's all TBers who descend on that kind of thing.

  9. Hahaha, yeah, kill_the_brave was me, i cant afford another amp anyway, just couldnt beat that price!

4 TB'ers bidding on that! ace!

  10. dont expect ANY EQ settings from me man.
    i hate you.
    you ruined my year!
    :p

    Mmmm, I wouldn't mind a V6 for a bit of a lighter amp..

Then again, a V4 would be best, then I could overdrive the shizten out of it and use the V8 for clean :)

Wow.. man, what a score! Already a collectors item it is...

(The shop nearby had a V6 for a while and I still regret not buying it... but it was more than twice the price you payed for your eBay head..)

Hopefully it's gonna provide you of a lot of joy..! ;)

  15. i just can't get over this at all!
there was a V4 on the 'Bay a while back that went for £640! I was so close to doing the BIN, but I felt it wasn't worth that much money compared to the interest it was recieving, then this comes along AND I HAVE NO MONEY!!!

Someone call me a wahhhhbulance! :bawl:

sorry microbass mate lol. Its weird how 4 of us were all bidding on the same thing and we all come on here lol. I wasnt actually fully looking for that amp head either, i thought yea go on ebay type in TE woa look whats come up i will bid on that lol. This is my first tube head so be warned about me asking lots of questions in the near future lol. I have heard good things about this amp head and i have found good reviews so im looking forward to using this :) I found an American website where you could pick one up for $3100. So i feel i have made a great price if thats the original price lol. Thanks again and sorry microbass and everyone else who were bidding on it.

You're right that's probably a good price, British Audio Service sold an NOS V6 for $1449 fairly recently and this one appears to be in very good condition. I just couldn't afford to go past £400 at the moment. Oh well, I still have the money towards a 6 string cirrus now at least.

  18. know the feeling. i lost all my x-mas money on a gig i never covered running costs for last weekend, major bummer! so id be struggling to pay for everyone's christmas never mind an amp as well! all that with no work.. gaargh!

im also gassin' for a sting ray again, someone was playing a SUB thru my stack at a gig. was beefy. sigh.
    GAS SUCKS. :D

    I've been using a V6 for 2/3 years now.

Got it for £325 from Dave Bronze - one time Claptton bassist and recenetly seen on the George Harrison commemorative concert.

Your's will be like mine with chrome knobs - much nicer than the more common plastic.

I use mine with 1518 and 1048H - great sound.

This side of an all-valve SVT, its great.

I started bidding as I could'nt stand if going for peanuts. At £412 its still a great buy especially if its virtually unused as implied by the seller.

Enjoy - let the Power be with you.

  20. Hahahaha, of the 6 different bidders, 5 of them are on TB!
