I have a 1994 Ken Smith CR5G that was custom ordered by a friend of mine. I'm the second owner. I consider the bass to be in about 90% condition, particularly considering its age.

    Here are the vitals:

    1994 Ken Smith CR5G
    - 5 piece body wings with walnut core*
    - 5A quilt top and matching headstock*
    - 5 piece neck*
    - graphite reinforcing bars in the neck*
    - BMT active preamp circuitry*
    - 'vintage' style Smith hard case (the rounded one)

This bass is simply stunning. It's lighter than most Smiths and has that 'old Smith' tone and feel. If you've ever liked a Smith, you'll love this one.

If I like it so much, why am I moving it? It's just not my sound. I'm looking for more of a Sadowsky, Lakland (USA only), Lull, Celinder, etc. sound. I'm becoming a total J-bass freak. I need a bit more of that 'old school' sound. The Smith is amazing, but old-school it ain't. I'll even consider high quality, unlined fretless basses. No 4's please. I can't live without a B-string.

Pictures will be provided for interested parties. I'm open to cash offers, bass trades, bass + $$ deals, and bass + other gear offers.

For detailed pictures, click here and look in the Smith folder.

    Lemme know what you have!
