So, this is on my local FB Marketplace.
    $8000.00 :eek::confused:o_O

    '65 Fender Fretless
He admitted to the re-paint in the ad.
But no sign of old finish under the flaking paint.

I'm willing to bet the truss-rod is non functioning.
The nut's buggered and the hole's beat up to the point the fretboard is damaged.

This poor thing had a sad, suffering filled life!

I'm not real sure, but I'm thinking he's just a bit too high.

the price of "mojo" is getting out of hand. :D

  5. I misread the price, and thought $800 seemed optimistic for something in that condition.
...wait, I missed a zero? Yeah, GLWT.

The guy's nasty nails are kinda gross imo, but the actual bass looks so much worse... :(

He's shooting for the moon. He's near the top of the price range if it was the original finish, had not been defretted, and had normal play wear. For that thing, he's way more than double what it should go for... and that's if he can prove the pickups, pots, bridge, and body are original. If he can't prove any of that, he's got a $500-$600 neck and some parts of unknown value.

Seeing that thumb nail explains why there are thumb tacks driven into the body!

Haha. Looks like he's been trying to adjust the truss rod with it.

Is there even any fender logo left on that headstock? It looks totally blank...

  18. Weight? Nut width?

Seriously though, this looks like a 25$ garage sale candidate, not some 8000$ vintage treasure...that guy is high like a kite.

The velvet inside that case is probably home to a new species of super bed bugs, too. Or zombie roaches.

    8k is way too much.
But a little TLC and that could be a beautiful instrument.
2500-4 seems much more reasonable depending on originality of all other parts.
