Transcribing bass part.. headphones, monitor, which?

    Are headphones your go to, if yes, which are better for this purpose.
    I cannot disturb others with big monitor.. but if a small physical speaker is optimal, which ones are liked for accurate hearing of bass parts?
    I am using Transcribe because it has a very wide ( 80 db ) span between softest frequencies and loudest frequencies.

    Any other suggestions for hearing in detail the bass parts we want to capture? Some have said, for instance, raise the whole part up an octave.
    Also, what kind of eq shapes, do you find optimize hearing those bass parts?
    If this question is deeply addressed already, please direct me to that, or those threads.

    Slow down the song. In general, cut enough highs/mids to still hear the part. Keep experimenting.

    Hard to tell you specific freqs because songs are eq'd differently.

    Depends on your environment, but I would say closed-back headphoness.
