Transitional Fingering Question

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [DB]' started by bassist1962, Apr 7, 2014.

  1. I am working on a passage in a staggered scale format in Em starting on the E on the G string, going up to the B, then decending back in the same way. My question is on fingering and transition between low and thumb positions. I am using somewhat Rabbath crab tecchnique and need opinions, suggestions, etc..

    My current fingering:

    Accending
    1 2 3 s 1 2 3 s t 1 2

    Decending
Starting with the 2 from the accending passage
    2 1 t s 3 2 1 s 3 2 1 4 2 1 s 4 2 1 (etc.doing a two octave decending fractured scale tonthe low E).

As stated my main concern is the transition between low to thumb and then the reverse. I want to incorporate this as an exercise, but want to make sure I am doing this properly.
    Advice is appreciated.
