Guys, could one of you please give me the proper English terms for the following major chords with major 3rd and diminished 5th:

    1 - 3 - b5
    1 - 3 - b5 - b7
    1 - 3 - b5 - 7

The Wikipedia article on chords does not mention them.
I'm preparing an article on three string chord voicings for bass and would like to use decent terminology.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the research, Malcolm!
One of those cases of inconsequent terminology, since 1 - b3 - b5 is a diminished triad, so why no proper name for 1 - 3 - b5?
In my language we call'm 'hard diminished'.

  3. A "Chris K M7b5"????? Wouldn't that be like a x7sus or a x9b13 inverted?

    -PE

    Wow, my very own chord...

It feels like I discovered a comet and get to name it after myself
