Traynor Tone Stack

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by lowdowndad, Mar 6, 2010.

  1. I've got a YBA-200 and I'm wondering about the tone controls on it.
Does it work like you set all controls to zero and boost from there? Kinda like an old home stereo?
Also what is meant by them being "cut only" controls?
If the controls are flat when dimed, do I start there and "cut" the freqs I want to reduce?
Sorry for all the questions but I want to understand this tone stack a little better.
    Thanks in advance,

If they're "cut only" it's a passive tone stack, and logically, set to zero would be flat. I'd still start with everything at noon, and work from there.

My understanding of the yba200 , is that everything on the eq side dimed is flat. Here are my settings just to give you an idea.

    8 5 7 2 4 0 0 4

that's what I use through a 2x15 cab with a passive jazz bass.
