Traynor YBA-1 at my local shop. What's it worth?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by GrooveMonkey, Jun 26, 2004.

  1. I went to the local shop that usually has nothing good and to my surprise I found a Traynor YBA-1 head!!! I tried it with a Peavey 2X10 cab and a Peavy Millenium bass. Sweet merciful crap that thing is cool!!!

Is $200 USD a fair price? I'm not sure what year it is...

  2. I've heard good things about those. I dont know how much its worth but I bet it does sound good. All-tube right? If so, how many watts?
  3. Yeah it's all tube but I'm not sure how many watts. It has two tubes for the power amp section.
  4. Actually tube amps are becoming the fashion again so the local prices here are going up. If the unit is in good shape the price is not too bad. The model pictured in the brochure (with the chrome wrap-around bumpers) is 1971 or later. Bear in mind that the Mk I is low power... about 40 watts.

You can read more about Traynor amps HERE.
