I finally recieved my nanoweb Elixirs from MF. I got "regular" tops (gauges 105/85/65/45). I
put them on my maple neck, alder body MIA jazz.
Compared to DRs and GHS boomers (my 2 preferred brands), they seem to be looser, lower tension. Also, they feel a bit slimy sometimes after playing them awhile, so there is the occassional slip. The seems less bright than the GHS and DRs, but I wouldn't descibe them as dull sounding. Hopefull they will retain this current level of brightness. If these string last as long as they claim, I would definitely buy another set for the $25 I paid. GC sells them for $44, which I'm not sure I'd spring for. Overall, I'd recommend these strings, assuming the last for awhile.
  2. Wow, where'd you get them for $25? I may be missing out on a lot :)

Yeah, I got three sets for 20 each when MF was blowing them out. Great strings. And yes, they will sound about like they do new for a very LONG time!
  4. Only use them on my fretless, love the tone and feel.... don't use them on any of my fretted basses, however.
