Tried the GHS Flea Boomers...

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by rulyøngo, Feb 16, 2004.

  1. Hello fellows bassists, tried the GHS Flea Boomers and i hated them... no midrange whatsoever...Very hollow sounding, better save your money and get DR LowRiders or LaBella Hard Rocking Steels... :bawl: :bassist:

DR's are by far my favorite strings so far. Especially the Marcus Miller signature ones. Very growly and cool. Other than that, fender taperwouds are great. I have never been a fan of GHS strings in general. Not for guitar(went dead too fast), and never for bass(sme prob).
  3. I still love my HARD ROCKING STEELS!!! :bassist: :D

Myh MM DRs are still sounding decent after 4 months of intense playing (I teach and play). I have boiled them twice in a mixture of rubbing alchohol and water, and they are nice and fresh. I think DR has me set on these bad mother ******* for life!

  6. Its the same with me. Such nice growl on my jazz. As a bonus, I hate that silk crap on the end of a string, it just gets frayed and looks a mess. Pointless really...
