Two that instantly come to mind, Primus and Rush.

I don't think Rush counts though, what with all the floor synths and whatnot. But even when they ditch all of that, it sounds very full.

Anyone notice the fact that both these bands have great bassists. Think there is any relation?

  2. Dead Hand System, basstriaxis band makes a lot of noise. Infact, that's what they do. The whole band is based on sound manipulation, which is VERY .

John Pizarelli Trio, MedeskiMartinWood, The Police, Cream, and yes...there is a relation. EVERYBODY has to be good in a trio:hyper:

  4. Rush Primus and Uzeb (idk if that counts or not, they only had 3 people in the band on one live CD...).

  5. I think the only bad thing about me being in a trio would have to be I would have to sing...ICKY!!

I also forgot Green Day...yes, Green Day...their sound is very full, even though its punk.

    All good examples.

yeah one more for dead hand system. It's actually some of the most innovative stuff i've heard recently, like atmospheric industrial.

That's true that everyone has to be good in a trio, or else it sounds too empty.

Rush and Primus are basicaly the only ones i listen to. Ive just recently gotten into playing a lot more Rush, and that makes it more fun to listen to.

    Triumph?

Anywho, Rush is by far the best out of the true trios ever. That is who my band, a power trio, fashion themselves after. Kings X gets no credit and the original Experience also gets none.
