Truss Rod Adjustments

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by Obsdian, Oct 3, 2002.

  1. How do I tell if I need to adjust my truss rod or not? Can only adjust it by taking the strings off?
What are my options in terms of straightness and curvature of the neck? Thanks!

  2. I urge you to do a search. Truss rod adjustment is number one in the list of top ten questions asked here. I remember Hambone did a extensive thread with diagrams answering quesitons identical to yours. Good Luck. If you dont find anything, let us know.

    O,

    Ditto what Merls said.

I note that you're a NewBee to the forum. Good to see you taking interest in the mechanics of your Bass. If you have difficulty doing a search, come back and I'll/we'll take you you through it.

In the meantime you might find the Roger Sadowsky web site of interest concerning Bass setup.

Cheers. (AKA "Rod Trussbroken" in other forums).
