Are there truss rods specifically made for short scale basses, and if there are, where do you find them? Or do you just use a guitar truss rod?
  2. I've used a guitar truss rod in a shorter scale bass. As long as the rod isn't short of the 12th fret (adjusting from the nut end) it's fine. Beyond the 12th fret, the trussrod is useless anyway.

That was exactly what i was looking for.
If a guitar truss rod will do for basses since the midle of the bass truss rod is at the 7th fret and guitar truss rod midle is at the 5-6th fret and we want the truss rod working at the 1-5 frets.
Or did i get it wrong?
  5. The rod definitely does it's thing from 1-5, yes. But then also some between 6-12 too.
