I have an 89 fender Jazz. The bass is in overall great shape except for one thing. The hex wrench slot on the truss rod nut is stripped. I have had this problem before with another bass and was able to replace the truss rod nut. My question is does anyone know if the design of the truss rods on these basses had a separate replaceable nut or is it welded on to the end of the truss rod. The adjustment slot is at the head stock and is a bit recessed so it is difficult to see it.

  2. I'd hope the nut can be replaced- pics?

Like I said, it is so recessed that it is not vivisble

Yes, the nut should be replaceable. You should post
this in the "Hardware, Setup & Repair" section for
    better answers,

You should be able to replace the nut, but if not replacing a truss rod is definitely on the simpler side of things you can do to fix a neck

  6. Well then have fun/you're welcome
