Truss rod problem...

I just started bass lessons yesterday. I've had my bass for close to 2 years now, but just started getting serious. Well, my instructor pointed out that the neck was bowing too much, and the truss rod needed to be adjusted. When he tried to do so, the allen wrench wouldn't sit in the nut to turn it. It almost looked to me like the nut in there was molded wrong in the factory.

My instructor is going to have his repair guy take a look at it. What do you guys think? My instructor isn't too confident that the repair guy will be able to fix it. I would hate to replace what is basically a brand new bass.

It sounds like your instructor didn't have the right size allen key. A good tech should be able to fix it easily.
