Trussrod squeaks

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by plester102, Oct 26, 2005.

  1. My 2000 Fender MIM Jazz trussrod squeaks when ever it it adjusted.

Can I safely remove the allen head adjusting bolt, lightly grease it, and easily replace it? Any alignment problems with getting the threads restarted?

    Great forum.

    Cheers,

    Paul

It probably is safer to use graphite than oil or grease. the white kind used to lube locks is a good choice.

Oil is generally not good if it starts soaking into the raw wood in the cavity.
