    i havent been playing that long.. about a year and a half. i have a spector q4 and a fender american deluxe jazz V and both of them have a lot of hum coming from them unplugged. what is causing this? i figure its the trussrod but i really have no idea. please give me some advise about this.

    Truss rods don't hum...actually, can't think of anything that will hum, unplugged. Care to explain more?

    well i dont mean the trussrod was humming but i thought maybe the trussrod needed adjusted.

    More than likely you mean frettbuzz. If your not sure how to do it on your own, just take it to a shop, and let a pro do it.
