I've been looking around for a decent Bass to get back in the saddle with. I played a little bit back in high school but never got very far. I'm looking for something not extremly expensive, probably less then 200. I know the old addage, you get what you pay for but I just want something to get on for now. I found a decent deal on a 5-string Stellar Neptune 001 with hardcase, and there's also a Peavey B-Ninety sitting at a pawn shop close to me for 150 cash. Someone please let me know what they think on something decent to start with and where to find it, thanks.

SX basses are really good for the money. I bought the $99 Jazz bass and have really enjoyed it. You could also check out a used Mexican Fender, but just buy what feels good to you.
  3. liek the guy above said, SX basses (rondomusic.net) would be your best bet, MIM fenders are good too, but those are $450+, maybe something used thats decent quality like ibanez or something would be ok too

Can't go wrong with SX basses. Check this one out for only $99.
