Alright, so I'm in the market for a 5 string bass, but living decently far (1.5-2hrs) from a major metropolitan area makes it hard for me to be able to try out any big name brands or designer basses. I currently play a Carvin LB70W that I love, but I was just wondering if I should stick to Carvin for my new 5-string or look elsewhere. Anyway, I am searching for a particular tone which some of you guys might have. So I like to have some good rumbling bass, but I still like my tone to be clear, crisp, and cutting with some mids and a little treble too (because I often play with full swing bands I need some decent tone to cut through the mix). The Carvin does a great job for all of this stuff, but I am wondering if there are any better? Thanks a lot
