Tube Amps & Load Boxes For Recording

I recently purchased a MarkBass Little Mark Tube head and Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 with the intention of recording through an audio interface at home. The amp can blend between solid state and tube and I've read articles suggesting not to connect the speaker out on the amp to a load box, so now I'm too nervous to actually hook it all up. I've found it extremely difficult to find easy-to-understand information regarding the use of tube amps and load boxes for recording. Have I spent money that I didn't need to? Will the two products work in conjunction for recording?
