I'm looking for a new tube for my SWR. I want to make it warmer(smoother) with even response across the frequency range, while keeping noise and microphonics down. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm a NOS tube guy myself and don't care much for new production tubes, so in my jaded opinion, try a GE or RCA 12AX7A or 7025. Also, many of the guys here @ TB like the 5751's and they can be nice in some apps. You can look around on ebay (be careful!). Put a link to the auction you're watching and let some of us tubeheads here at TB take a look at them. Several of us are pretty good at identifying them. Could save you some trouble! Good luck!

RCA 7025 sounds great in an SWR and really does give the tone you described.
