    What do you prefer?

Please List your set-up (amp, head+cabs, bass effects etc)

and your style of music, why you like your set up, what genres you play, where you play (do play in the garage with friends every Friday? or do you Gig Saturday nights? do you jam some jazz and funk in the bar? or do you grunge and head bang outside and in big clubs?)

I feel tube amps have a great thick/ growly tone to them and sound warmer overall. However, I feel they lack headroom in the low end and seem to run out of power fast. These heads are made to distort at higher volume.

Solid state/Hybrid heads still have some of that warmth to them and SOME of the growl of tube heads. The feel is a little different, but I feel the extra low end and overall extra headroom in these heads is a huge plus for playing with drop tuned basses/ 5 string basses.

Play whatever you want and enjoy it!

    :D Classic!

  11. Various studies from prestigious research universities have determined through various studies that tubes are always exactly 5.38 times louder than solid state. This is the consensus, and to argue with it is madness.
