Tube Works Blue Tube O.D./Distortion Vs. Flipster Vs. VT BASSS

  1. Looking to add some Ampeg to my arsenal, but do not want that tone on every song.

Anyone w. the Tube Works Blue Tube O.D./Distortion ??? Can you get an AMPEG tone from it? There is one locally for a good deal.

What about Flipster vs. VT Bass. Which has the closer natural SVT tone?

    Never tried the Tube Works.

As for the Flipster and the VT Bass, I actually like the tone of the Flipster more, but I think the VT is closer to true Ampeg tones, especially the SVT.

  3. I played around w/one of these for awhile- it sounded nice but I left it plugged in for several days(idiot)and it fried the tube; replacement tubes now last like 12 seconds before also committing suicide. IIRC it was fairly Ampeg-esque, but even when it worked it was not happy w/the outlet I had it plugged into(very noisy). In retrospect, the outlet could have had some strange iss(VERY old house)or the pedal could have been bad from the get-go.
