tuner question

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by The Antipop, Jun 2, 2002.

  1. ok, I got a cheap SEIKO chrom tuner and I don't know a few things....

what key should I tune it to?
    Eb, F, Bb or C
it has the choice and they make a big difference

    also,
    What pitch should I use
415, or any number between 435 and 446.

    Thanks in advance

Concert pitch (standard tuning) is 440.

EDIT: Here is some info for you. It looks like you'd use Eb.

Concert pitch and standard tuning are two different things, are they not?

You're not wrong, I was. :) Does the old standard (the A that was closer to today's Ab) go by a name? I must have mixed the two up.
