Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. I was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about "TUNG" basses. I picked one up about a year ago, and it has to be the best playing bass that I have ever got my hands on. But nobody seems to know anything about them. Thanks for any info that you might have.

Hey, Welcome to TB you'll love it here. A member of this site (Yvon) owns a Tung. From what I can remember he loves the thing. Here are some picks of his bass.

I think Nick Tung worked at Tobias basses in the 80's and then started his own business, which he quit in the mid-90's. Not sure of why he quit. Only around 100 Tungs were made.

    IIRC.

You're absolutely right Oysterman. I spoke with Mike (Tobias) trying to get some information from him. He didnt go into too much detail but said their separation was an amicable one. I would love to have a Tung six string!! Might be willing to put up my Hyperbass as trade on one!

Wow, so far Tung's batting a 1000! I haven't seen an ugly yet! I'd love to play one.

You're right. Another great George Foreman quote from that fight was: "I thought the "Rope-a-Dope" was a brilliant strategy, until I realized that I was the "Dope"."

George Foreman has made an amazing turnaround from back then. Smart man.

mine is a 5. Just like yours, the only difference is the color and the XLR output.
