Tuning Help

    i have an electronic tuner i use to tune my bass to EADG. But, i want to play a song that says to put my bass at Drop D down 1/2 step C#,G#,C#,F#. I do not know what to do to get my bass tuned like that. Help plz.

    Tune your E string down until the tuner indicates a flat C# or Db, then tune up to the pitch. Repeat with the other strings.

    You can tune the 2nd fret to an E. It's kind of a variation of the way I tune up when I put a new set of strings on -- turn the key until the tension feels right, give it a good crank to flatten it, and then search for the fret that's at the note I'm tuning to. This would work for alternate tunings, although I've never had cause to try it.
