  1. k....im gunna sound real dumb now and evry one iz gunna laugh at me so get it over with and only stay if ure prepared to help me.

here it is, im 15 and ive only taken up bass in the last couple of months, i play a 4 stringer and i need to know how u tune it in the other tuning forms such as "drop D" etc, as most the tabs i want are written like this which quite annoys me when i dont know how. i always keep my bass in standard tuning as i use an electronic tunder as i cant do it any other way. so if anyone can help me and tell me how to accomplish the other types of tuning i would be extremely greatfull!!!

Sorry it has taken be so long to respond. I have been away, teaching at the National Summer Guitar Workshop these past few weeks.

Drop D tuning means to tune the E string down to the note D. Play the open D string and the 12th fret harmonic on the E string. Tune down the E string until the two notes are identical (the beats go away).
