hey talk bass members i am just wondering what drop D tuning is,isnt it tuning the Eflat stringto D? i am confused so if any one could tell me that would be great thanx

  2. alrighty. all drop D means is you take your E string and drop it down to a D. So insted of an open note on that string being an E, its a D. thats about all. so just get a tuner, play an E then tune it down to a d.

  3. Normal tuning for a 4 string bass is E-A-D-G (from thickest string to thinnest).

Drop D is tuning the E string down a whole step down from E to D.

yea Drop D is just tuning the low E down to a D
