Turning my Squier P-Bass Active

    I have had a Squier P-Bass for about a year now and I wanted to switch the pickups and get more outputand make it active. I was thinking about getting some Seymour Duncan ProActives or Lightnin' Rods because the preamp is in the pickup and saving enough room for the battery. I was wondering if there are better pickups that wouldn't need routing for the electronics.

    I would suggest the Raven labs P-Bass preamp that fits into the standard P-Bass cavity and uses a small flat watch style battery. I would then find a used USA Fender P-Bass pickup to use with the active preamp. You should be able to do all this for around $125.00 and no routing required.
