Deciding between a five string fender jazz bass Or the schecter c5 apocalypse. We play heavy tunes in the vein of Deftones..my question is which would hold the drop a tuning better with less flab? And any other constructive I sight would be appreciated. Thank you talk bassss!

Of those two, the schecter. Most any 35" scale will suffice, however.

Schecter is definitely a good choice for that. the stiletto basses are also good for drop a tunings. especially a flat tunings. just make sure you have heavy gauge strings for that.
