  7. The identical "Happy Thanksgiving" auction was posted by a different user a couple of days ago. When I emailed and asked him about why he had pictures and copy from the Bass Exchange auction, the auction disappeared, but this one appeared the next day with a higher-feedback seller. Stolen Ebay accounts, I suspect, especially given the private auction, the undisclosed seller's location, and the fact that up to this point the seller has only sold antique buttons...

Not to mention that that is definitely a Monarch and not an Emperor. I can see why the fake auction would get it wrong bow could Bass Exchange mess that one up?

Emperor bodies are offset like a jazz bass...Monarchs are symmetrical like a P.

I just noticed that Bass Exchange posted a fix at the bottom of their auction.

I think the horns are a bit different as well. *sigh*...I am way too into these basses. ;)

  15. It took me about a second to recognize it was a Monarch, too. Sad...

I got this back from the seller:

    Hi Todd.

I will provide you the serial number only when I will be sure if you really want to buy.

    Best regards,
    Neil

hmmm...sounds even more fishy to me.

why not just post the serial number in the ad itself?

why would the serial number be such coveted info?

    jeez.

HMMmmmmmmm....:meh: anybody think a contact of ebay is in order? Sounds VERY, VERY fishy indeed:spit:

  20. Funny, "Neil" also signed the email I got back on the previous (deleted) action under seller ID "ludlow91" (or something like that). Odd coincidence, eh?
