Two tone dye on thin veneer

    i want to place a dark dye on a thin veneer to bring out the quilting. I want to then sand it down and add another dye color over top. The veneer is about a 1/16 inch thickness. Has anyone successfully done this?

    This might be what you’re looking for....Have a read thru a build by @FunkyMan - Modern 5 Strings Bass Build!

    You probably want to have your veneers already glued down, and practice a bunch if you haven’t used dyes yet.

    I'm sure people do it all the time, and I'm sure some of them, especially those without experience, sand through 1/16" of veneer frequently. Question is:
